WARNING: DEADLINE APPROACHING!

U.S. Readers: If you do not have a high definition television you will not be able to watch over the air TV after the HD switchover at midnight on February 17, 2009 unless you have a converter box.

The good news is that the government will give you a coupon to get one for free. However. The deadline to apply for the coupon is this Monday, March 31st! You can go to https://www.dtv2009.gov/ to apply for it.

Internet TV: hulu

If you have a lot of dead time and you have a computer with an Internet connection, and you want to watch free TV legally, hulu appears to be the clear leader. It is a good way to catch a show that you missed on broadcast and hulu also features free full length movies.

One cool thing is that if you surf away from your video and then go back to it, hulu picks up where you left off, not start over.

Hulu is backed by NBC, Fox, MGM, Sony and Universal, so it has an excellent selection of material.

A computer is rapidly becoming the best way to watch TV. Highly recommended.
