So they promised us warm weather and we get this! Snow! First time it has snowed in Austin in years! You can not see the little snow flakes in this picture, but you can see some of the accumulation and the iciles that have formed.
It is now day 2 and we are still trapped at home with the children. We may not survive the great blizzard of 2007. If there are no more postings here by me, send food (preferably cookies and hot chocolate) and a psychologist.

I'll send warm fuzzy thoughts your way...
Check my blog for photos of REAL winter, which we definitely are NOT having this year in Germany - today a high of 52 degrees! There were a few times last year when I was not sure which mound of snow my car was under. Problem is, in Texas you don't have winter tires, and nobody knows how to drive in this weather. Just take a walk to Randalls!
This amount of snow keeps Texans at home? Our South Island in the middle of winter would bury your entire house? And people still go off to work/school if power/water and so on still working ...
Get the kids to build an igloo on the back lawn so you can get them out of the house for awhile ...
Mm, cookies and hot chocolate ... on their way. I think the shrink might be too late though!
My husband grew up in alaska and never had a snow day. If HE couldn't make it to the bus then too bad for him. The buses always ran behind the snowplows and school was always in session. Sounds kinda depressing to me.
As I write this we are having a phenomenol storm in Germany with wind gusts of over 100 mph. and blinding rain. In some sections of Germany the entire train schedule has been stopped due to trees on the tracks. So, here is where global warming has parked its.... for now, at least.
Snow hey?
must've been quite the shock to wake up to
